Comparing Wikis

I have been working on a project in my class. I am planning on having the students build a wiki as a final project. However, I have been trying to decide which is best, Wikispaces , PBWiki, or another platform. Now thanks to David Warlick, I have found a great tool to help me out.

The site is called WikiMatrix and it will let you compare different wikis in a winner-take-all, no-holds-barred battle for your wiki usage (I am imaging Tina Turner saying “two wikis enter, one wiki leaves”). In messing with the site, I found that neither PBwik or Wikispaces has footnotes. I’m not sure why they have both left that function out, but it may be a deal breaker for me.
